The Reality of Dreams, Physics & God

by Mark Bingaman

I just awoke from a dream that took me straight to the revelations of the Conversations with God series and made me wonder; is it true?

Dreams simply must be classified as one of the most intriguing and downright strange mysteries of the human experience. We’ve all chuckled to ourselves in amazement about the bizarre mish-mash of people, situations and locations that often seem to bounce around our head as we sleep. I still haven’t figured out why Wild Bill Hickok and Michelle Obama once joined me on a dream-journey as we all rode tigers, bareback and peacefully, through the jungle of Costa Rica. Do they even have tigers in Costa Rica?

The message in Conversations with God presents us with the most-compelling explanation I’ve ever encountered of the dream process. Simply put, sleep is a demand of the soul as it seeks a respite from the constraints of the human body and must experience its’ true self; an entity that is able to visit other realities and dimensions amid the time-space continuum. (Before you scoff too much at the idea of the existence of “other dimensions”, take a few minutes and examine the thoughts of well-respected scientists concerning quantum physics and the dozen dimensions possibly correlated with string theory).

CWG suggests that, courtesy of physics, every moment in time that has, or will, take place exists simultaneously in the wonder of the Universe and space. Beyond that, a non-stop stream of alternative reality coincides with your life. In other words, in another dimension, you and Michelle Obama may be best buds. In yet another spot, or another life, perhaps you knew Wild Bill Hickok. As the soul makes its’ way throughout this wide range of realities, it brings back little snippets of these visits which converge in your mind and make for a collage of crazy experiences that pop up in dreams.

There is nothing that makes more sense than when the edges of spirituality and science overlap, explaining each other. For if quantum physics is correct, and multiple dimensions and realities exist, why is it difficult to contemplate the ability of our life-presence and subconscious, and our “soul,” to be aware of these alternative realities with parts of them slipping into our most peaceful, relaxed and open-minded time…sleep?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Post your comments below or forward this post to your friends for their comments. And, if you’re unfamiliar with the sections of Conversations with God that covers this topic, read it. It’s fascinating, mind-blowing stuff.

Peace,

Mark

Why Olympic Figure Skater Joannie Rochette Can Find Joy in the Death of Her Mother

When the mother of Olympic figure skater Joannie Rochette died this past Sunday, 2/21/10, she provided every one of us on this planet the opportunity to re-member a great truth; that death is not the end, but rather an ongoing beginning.

By now, hundreds of millions of people know the story. Many watched on television, transfixed, as only 2 days after her mothers' tragic heart attack, Joannie Rochette competed in the Olympics, finding the strength to realize a life dream while dealing with the loss of the woman who bore her, raised her and loved her.

It's quite the story today, and intriguing to observe, as people discuss exactly what it means to lose a loved one and buzz about the implications of how those left behind react. Should we fall into misery? Must our heart ache with the knowledge that those we loved are gone, never to be experienced again?

Of course, absolutely of course, it is perfectly natural for us to feel this pain. But, the Universe has provided us new revelations; new ways of looking at and understanding death. As the Conversations with God series reminds us, there is no loss whatsoever when death occurs. It is a joyful experience for the one who has passed as he or she moves on to a different level of life, shedding the constraint of the human body and existence.

Our limited human thinking has trouble with this concept. We fail to grasp the implication of quantum physics, time, space, and the spiritual dimension of the soul in relation to life and death of the human body. Instead, fear overcomes us as we face the prospect of living in this world without someone whose love meant so much to us. Indeed, it can be a scary prospect for those who believe this life experience to be nothing but a biological process, meaning little, going nowhere, and ending after a few, short years.

I choose for my truth to be the opposite. It is an understanding that when those I care about die, perhaps tragically and "before their time", the experience is exactly what it is supposed to be. I understand that our souls will know each other again, in some way, shape or form, and that this short-term loss is just that-nothing but a blip in the mind-blowing expanse of space and time. While living human life for years or decades minus a loved-one seems an anguishing eternity for many of us to contemplate, the truth is that in the non-existent timeline of the universe, it will seem no longer than a weekend vacation when 2 souls meet again beyond this dimension.

It is that reality, the true perspective, serving as the re-minder that Joannie Rochette and her mother chose to share with us all. Thank you.
